Chief Executive Officer for A.P. Drones Corporation

Andhra Pradesh State FiberNet Limited (APSFL) is a fully owned entity of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The Corporation is responsible for undertaking the works of AP Fibergrid, its operations & maintenance and business activities duly partnering with various stakeholders. APSFL is floating a new corporation, “A.P. Drones Corporation” which shall be a wholly owned subsidiary related to Drones. As part of the team building activity, APSFL is looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial executive to lead the company in the capacity of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on contract basis.

Job Summary

The principle components of CEO’s role include the following areas:

–  Setting strategy and direction to the organization

–  Modeling and setting the organization’s culture

–  Building and leading the senior executive team

–  Allocating capital to the organization’s  priorities


Key Activities and responsibilities of the role

Perspective Responsibilities
Key Roles –         On behalf of the organisation, lead the Drone services such as operations, training programmes etc.

–         Should interact with various depts., stakeholders for Drone based service

–         Identify and address problems and opportunities for the organisation.

–         Oversee day-to-day operation of the organisation

–         Act as a convener for Board of Directors of the organisation

–         Shall prepare agenda for the Board of Directors meeting

–         Report to the board of directors and keep them informed

–         Shall aware of all the Drone activities being performed in the organisation

–         Shall be aware of DGCA/MoCA policies on Drones

–         Determines the direction of a business by working with upper management and leading team members to create and implement strategies and goals

–         Develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives

–         Assure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations

–         Builds a positive and productive culture in the workplace by listening to employee opinions, making adjustments, and recognising the team’s accomplishments

–         Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the organisation’s legality and business ethics

–         Should represent the organisation in important meetings

–         Oversee the organisation’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing

–         Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements

–         Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the organisation

–         Effectively manages the human resources of the organization according to authorized personnel policies and procedures

–         Ensure that the Organisation has appropriate systems to enable it to conduct its activities both lawfully and ethically

Qualifications, Technical Skills & Experience



–          Post Graduate/M.Tech from a premier institute

–          B Tech / B E from premier a institute

–          Ph.D is desirable though not essential


Technical Skills


–         In-depth knowledge in Drones& its technologies, applications etc

–         Knowledge of Drone policies, rules & regulations

–         Ability to build consensus and relationships among executives, partners, and the workforce

–         Understanding of human resources and personnel management.

–         Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions.

–         Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate

–         Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision

–         Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles



–         R&D experience in Drone technologies

–         Proven experience as CEO or in other managerial position

–         Proven negotiation skills

–         Excellent communication and public speaking skills




–         15+ years of overall experience

–         7+ years of experience in Drone industry

–         5+ years of experience in a senior leadership position

–         Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders

–         Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and on budget

–         Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills

–         Strong analytical and problem solving skills

–         Ability to handle work pressure

–         Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards etc. and their impact on project activities is vital

–         Superior communication and interpersonal skills
