Chief Executive Officer for A.P. Virtual Classroom Corporation

Andhra Pradesh State FiberNet Limited (APSFL) is a fully owned entity of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The Corporation is responsible for undertaking the works of AP Fibergrid, its operations & maintenance and business activities duly partnering with various stakeholders. APSFL is floating a new corporation, “A.P. Virtual Classroom Corporation” which shall be a wholly owned subsidiary related to Virtual Schools. As part of the team building activity, APSFL is looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial executive to lead the company in the capacity of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on contract basis.

Job Summary

The principle components of CEO’s role include the following areas:

–  Setting strategy and direction to the organization

–  Modeling and setting the organization’s culture

–  Building and leading the senior executive team

–  Allocating capital to the organization’s  priorities

Key Activities and responsibilities of the role

Perspective Responsibilities
Strategic –         To lead, in conjunction with the Board, the development of the Company’s strategy.

–         To lead and oversee the implementation of the Company’s long and short term plans in accordance with its strategy

Financial –         Ensure that expenditures of the Company are within the authorized annual budget of the Company

–         Develop and meet revenue and other financial goals for practice

–         Meet and exceed the yearly budgeted turnover and profit targets of multi-location operations

Customer –         To act as a liaison between management and the Board

–         To communicate effectively with shareholders, employees, Government authorities, vendors, other stakeholders and the public

–         To ensure that processes and systems are in place

–         To ensure that the Directors are properly informed and that sufficient information is provided to the Board to enable the Directors to form appropriate judgments

Internal –         Assess the principal risks of the Company and ensure that these risks are being monitored and managed

–         Ensure effective internal controls and management information systems are in place

–         Ensure that the Company maintains high standards of corporate citizenship and social responsibility

–         Ensure the integrity of all public disclosure by the Company

–         To concert with the MD/Chairman, to develop Board agendas

–         To request that special meetings of the Board be called when appropriate

–         In concert with the MD/Chairman, to determine the date, time and location of the annual meeting of shareholders and to develop the agenda for the meeting

–         To sit on committees of the Board where appropriate as determined by the Board

–         Ensure that the Company is appropriately organized and staffed

Learning & Development –         Updates the capability of the Team on a continuous basis through training and other capability building programs
Qualifications, Technical Skills & Experience



–          Post Graduate/MBA from a premier institute

–          B Tech / B E from premier a institute


Technical Skills


–         MS Office Application Advanced Knowledge

–         Project Management tools

–         ERP Defining & Usage

–         Dashboard & Infographics Design tools

–         Basic Networking skills

–         Other suitable technical training




–         15+ years of hands on project management experience

–         5+ years of experience in a senior leadership position

–         Handled at least two large scale Edu-tech projects
